The Challenge
A newer construction home in Hoover's Greystone neighbourhood had a two-storey entry foyer with full-height sidelights and a transom window beside the front door. The glazing gave the home a striking street presence but created a privacy issue — the foyer and staircase were fully visible from the street and from the neighbouring property. The homeowners wanted a privacy solution that would complement the home's traditional architecture and not look like an afterthought.
The Solution
Solar Busters specified Avery Dennison Decorative Glass Film Series in a classic etched-glass pattern for the sidelights and transom. The pattern was selected from the Avery Dennison range to match the home's traditional character — a fine geometric etch that reads as architectural glass rather than applied film. The film was installed in a single half-day visit. The homeowners also added a matching frosted band to the bathroom window on the first floor, which had a similar privacy concern.
